How many laser tattoo removal sessions will I need?
This process takes on average approximately 6 weeks and therefore we recommend spacing your appointments at least 6 weeks apart. Best results are usually reached within 4 to 8 treatments. This depends on several variables, such as:
• the depth of the tattoo and ink concentration
• the age, colour and size
• your skin type
• your immune system
Also some of our clients are seeking a less thorough removal in preparation for a coverup tattoo. In this case less sessions are needed. A full removal requires more sessions with green and blue colours being the most stubborn to remove.
How do I prepare for my laser tattoo removal session?
The treatment may cause a slight amount of discomfort. It’s often described as a rubber band snapping on the skin-like sensation. Some clients report the discomfort levels as being similar as getting a tattoo. The sensation also depends on the area we are treating. To minimise these discomfort levels, we recommend applying a topical numbing cream (Emla or Numb it) onto the area 30-45mins before arriving for your treatment. In order to keep the cream from rubbing off you can apply some glad wrap over it.

Aftercare for tattoo removal is very similar as caring for your tattoo for when you initially had it done. It is important to keep it clean and hydrated with a hydrating balm (Bepanthen or Savlon). Also in order to avoid scarring, it is important to restrain from picking any scabs or blisters.
