RF Microneedling

RF Microneedling is also known as Radiofrequency Skin Microneedling and is a major advancement on traditional skin needling. It is minimally invasive and uses an array of very fine microneedles and powerful RF thermal energy that is delivered directly into the dermis, bypassing the epidermis. Thus the treatment is safe with minimal discomfort, and short downtime (approx 3 days).

The microneedles create thousands of microscopic wounds at a predetermined depth. This triggers the skin’s natural regenerative process, stimulating more collagen growth, elastin and wound contraction which rejuvenates laxity. In addition to treating ageing and textural concerns, such as fine lines and wrinkles RF Microneedling also improves deeper scarring, sagging skin, over all skin tone, and pore size.

To obtain optimal results, we recommend a course of 4 treatments spaced at least 4 weeks apart. This gap may be longer if the skin requires more recovery time–for clients who’s healing process may be slower. This treatment is suitable for those suffering from lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, large pores, uneven skin surface and pigmentation.

RF microneedling is suitable for most clients. However due to the radiofrequency component, it isn’t suitable for pregnant or breast feeding women or people with pacemakers. Also those who’s healing capabilities are compromised or are immunosuppressed will have to bypass this treatment. Other contraindications are inflammation or infection, or certain medical conditions such as active cancer or heart disease.

Depending on the area on the face or body being treated and the needle length used, the procedure is well tolerated and in some cases almost painless, with just a mild prickling sensation. However in the case of a longer needle length, a topical anaesthetic will be applied prior to the treatment to reduce any discomfort.
